At the end of ages, when the sky above Asgard turned purple and the stars faded one by one, a warrior rose from the flames like no other – a Valkyrie who accepted the gift of eternal fire: Phoenix Valkyrie. The Cosmic Flame edition is the most colourful and the rarest version of the series: only 250 pieces worldwide.

Design

On the obverse the Valkyrie hovers in the glow of a cosmic night. Her wings are pure white on one side and coloured with flames on the other – from gold through orange to red, as if new hope were being born from the ashes. She wears a golden crown of flames, red gemstones glitter at her neck and waist, and she holds a golden branch of victory. Below her burns a sea of fire flanked by dark volcanic slopes, and above arches a starry sky with thousands of sparkling points that dance with every movement of the medal.

The other side tells the second half of the legend. In the centre stands Valhalla – the hall of fallen heroes with dragon ornaments, columns and banners – surrounded by a ring of runes. Around it, in eight scenes, the whole Norse saga unfolds: at the top a Valkyrie with spear and shield, the wolves Geri and Freki, the ravens Huginn and Muninn, the goat Heiðrún beneath the tree of life, the chained wolf Fenrir, the eight-legged horse Sleipnir, a winged dragon and the world serpent Jörmungandr coiled into an eternal circle. Every figure is modelled in the finest detail – a miniature monument to myth that fits in your palm.

Craftsmanship

The medal is struck from 1 ounce of pure .999 silver and refined with 24-karat gold, which highlights the crowns, jewellery, rim and fine ornaments. Diamond Finish gives the reliefs depth and a brilliant sparkle, and the colour treatment turns every look at the medal into a small universe of fire, stars and legends.
