KOALA Save the World 17.5 g 500 Francs CFA Silver Coin Cameroon 2026

Australia's most adorable symbol

The koala is one of the best-known and best-loved animals in the world – a calm inhabitant of Australia's eucalyptus forests. Its fate depends on whether those forests survive. The Mint of Poland "Save the World" series reminds us that the future of animals is in our hands. Quite literally: at the base of the design, human hands embrace the world.

A coin you will want to look at

The central motif is a full-colour, photo-realistic koala hugging a eucalyptus trunk, set beneath a magnifying lens. As you turn the coin in your hand, the image draws closer, giving the fluffy fur and attentive gaze real depth. The contrast of the proof finish with laser matting completes the design. The obverse bears the coat of arms of the Republic of Cameroon, the year 2026 and the face value of 500 CFA francs.
