Coin design

The reverse is dominated by the eagle's head in profile, struck in high relief. Every feather on the neck has a clear, deep texture, while the piercing eye and hooked beak draw the gaze. Mountain peaks and clouds rise in the background. THE BALD EAGLE · 1KG .999 CU runs along the rim, next to the signature of the designer, P. DeGreef. The antique finish brings out the warm tone and depth of the copper.

The obverse shows the coat of arms of the Republic of Benin – a shield with leopards, horns of plenty and the motto FRATERNITÉ JUSTICE TRAVAIL – with RÉPUBLIQUE DU BÉNIN, the year 2022 and the face value 1500 FRANCS CFA.
