The Big Five series by Mauquoy

The Big Five series is struck for the Ivory Coast by the Belgian mint Mauquoy, famous for its ultra-high relief (haut-relief). Each coin shows the head of a wild animal sculpted so deeply that it almost leaves the coin. The antique finish brings out fur, scales and wrinkles of the skin, making it look more like a sculpture than a coin.

Big Five in one ounce of silver

The coin contains 1 oz of .9999 silver. It is the smallest format of the series – a great way to add a Mauquoy coin to your collection. The mintage is 500 pieces.
